The fleur de lis is so much a part of New Orleans.  You find fleurs everywhere you turn in the city.  It became the symbol of recovery and rebirth after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  Change the colors of the stitching and you can personalize the fleur de lis to reflect the colors of Mardi Gras or your favorite team!
